School Days (here we go!)

Plot:
Makoto Ito, a Japanese high school student, has been admiring a girl he has been seeing on the train on his way to school, Kotonoha Katsura. Makoto managed to take a photo of her with his cell phone, but due to a new seating arrangement in his class, he ends up next to Sekai Saionji, who discovers Makoto's crush as she snoops for his cell phone while talking to him, and vows to help him until Kotonoha agrees to go out with him. When Sekai finally gets them together, she realizes her own feelings after finding out that the person Kotonoha liked was, in fact, Makoto. While waiting for her train next to Makoto, who was waiting for Kotonoha, she has him talking about how he can repay her for all of her help. Before leaving for her train, she kisses him and cries when she boards the way home. Kotonoha happily arrives for her date with Makoto shortly after. With all three main characters carrying different expressions on their faces, the story begins. - Wikipedia (lol)
Main Characters:
First is Makoto Ito. He's the indecisive bastard who can't make a clear decision on who's the woman he really wants to be with. He's an a$$ that'll get whacked spectacularly. He's really not a bad guy but he's just too indecisive and insensitive. Personally, I hate him since he seems really nice but he sometimes just takes advantage of people. He's probably the best guy to be brutally whacked in the end.
Next is Sekai Saionji. She's Makoto's seat mate. When she discovers that Makoto likes Kotonoha, she proceeded with helping him in making them both get close with each other. Of course she succeeded in this but, in reality, she also likes Makoto. Weapon of choice: agile pointy knives.
Last is Kotonoha Katsura. She becomes Makoto's girlfriend in the story. She is kind and calm but she's emotionally and mentally fragile. She is also kind of obsessive. She always worries about being neglected by Makoto. Weapon of choice: big ass butcher's knife.

This series also has a Visual Novel game, an animé, and a manga. I've watched the animé (obviously) and read the manga. They have different endings. The Visual Novel has a lot of endings. However, the way the animé ended was the best for me. NICE BOAT!! To spoil the fun, I give you the splendidly wonderful ending of the animé.

no subs but still nice, right? ^_^ i liked it too..
Well, that's it! (what?! i thought it would be "in detail") Watch the animé and read the manga! I'm sure you'll really enjoy it! (or not..)
Lessons learned: emotions and feelings are dangerous and girls who had enough are your worst nightmare. With girls, caution must be high ALWAYS..

School Days (delayed) OmGzOrZ!!

Sorry but I can't post the School Days thing today.. ^_^
I'm kinda tied up (which really means.. got lazy) so I think I'll post it tomorrow... or the day after that or next month (lol). Although I didn't promise (to who anyway?? does anybody even visit this site???) to post it today, I still feel sorry.. ^_^
To compensate, I have a couple of shots from the animé to give you an idea (or ideas) about what will happen in the story (assuming that you haven't researched about it anyway).. ^_^
TA-DA!! (that was lame... really lame..)
hmm.. cute eyes, no?

Again, gomen!

NHK ni Youkoso! (Welcome to The NHK)

Ever wondered if the life of a hikikomori all it's cracked up to be? Do you know what it takes to be a "hikikomori?"
Well look no further. My latest Spotlight of this creatively contrived series - a series that is poised to strike a resounding chord in the hearts and minds of many anime fans - could very well be the doorway to your favorite anime of 2006. If it is, feel free to thank me later. ^^;

Name: Tatsuhiro Satou
Age: 22
Status: College dropout
Occupation: NEET (No Employment, Education, Training) / Hikikomori Extraordinare

'I am a failure as a human.'

Have you ever wanted to retreat beneath a rock, never wanting to emerge from your own self-proclaimed prison to face the world? Have you ever felt as if your existence within society is no longer welcomed, let alone necessary?

Satou's tangible lifestyle summed up.
For a young man with broken dreams, now pressed into a life as a hikikomori for 4 years and still going strong, it seems as though Satou's life has lost all meaning to him. Sleeping at least 16 hours a day, only leaving his room for obtaining cup ramen, while living amongst cigarette butts, beer cans, and emptied containers of filth has become first nature...literally. Conforming to the sadistic words of his high school sempai, that he is a victim of a distinct and powerful conspiracy, Satou submerges into the depths of a surrealistic fantasy that is bent on keeping him captive for the rest of his life - a conspiracy known solely under the acronym "NHK", or Nihon Hikikomori Kyokai. When a magazine solicitor shows up at his door, a girl by the name of Misaki Nakahara, is accompanying her. Satou's own xenophobic- like thoughts of Misaki soon ties them into a face-to-face meeting, in which she claims that joining her "project" will release him from his hikikomori ways. After years of seclusion, can Satou possibly trust this confident, mysterious stranger? What's more, does Satou even want to be saved?

Satou-kun, you do realize you are talking to your appliances, right?

Satou using all available brain cells to figure a way out of a bothersome situation.
NHK Ni Youkoso! expertly blends together the feat of parody on various levels and paralleling it to what certain persons have found themselves experience in reality and, perhaps, in the shadowed lair of their subconscious. Satou's very realistic lifestyle has the capacity to draw in the curious and the reclusive - whether you are classified as an otaku or not. The curious will be intrigued of what good could possibly become of Satou & the storyline; the reclusive may find themselves instantly seeing pieces of Satou in themselves. That is the intial key to the sheer success of what has, thusfar, been a stellar series. Admittingly, those who crave action/adventure and frown upon a series that refuses to start off with a bang will probably write this off as mundane and lacking any possibility of being worth one's time. But...and this is a very BIG but (no pun intended)...as one who actually chose NHK Ni Youkoso!, based off of my curiosity of the title, as a random series to view, I do not regret it for a second. In fact, to have missed such an addictive, well-written, very well-paced anime would have been a sin in itself. Not to mention GONZO thought it worthwhile to animate.

Misaki pushing Satou to join her "project."
This is my sincere request to you. Watch this series. Be ensnared with unabated curiosity, as I promise you will hardly become as the "cat." I would not classify this anime under shounen or shoujo - NHK Ni Youkoso! is for anyone. You will be absolutely be taken aback at how rapidly this seemingly stiltted storyline is unpacked - lovable, original characters, drama, plot twists, and, most of all, countless moments that will keep you laughing on the edge of your seat craving the next episode. If you've been looking for something breathtakingly creative - a bit FLCLish, only without the repetitive "WTF!" mindtrip and spinoff anime references - amusing, and quite possibly intoxicatingly nostalgic to watch, and haven't yet decided on which of the new fall series tickle your fancy, catch up with NHK Ni Youkoso!. Don't be left behind in the NHK conspiracy; you could be a victim and not even know it.

Hmm... This article didn't even sound like me.. Bwahahaha!! *evil laugh* Thanks Anime-Source for the article!!
Whatnot, I really love this animé. I watched the animé and read the manga. I really really like this one because I see myself in Satou. :P lol.
Anyway, This series, has just been started to be uploaded in crunchyroll.. Watch it HERE NAO!!!

School Days

Interesting facial expression, no? And what's up with that big mother of god chopping knife and suspiciously dirty bag? Hehehe.. Be prepared, for tomorrow (or after tomorrow or the day after the day after tomorrow) for we shall explore the wonderful and colorful world of School Days possibly in great detail (a lot of spoilers?). For now, I sleep.

Raki Suta (Lucky Star) continued... AGAIN..

So, I already talked a little about Konata and Kagami..
Now, I present to you Tsukasa Hiiragi and Miyuki Takara!
Tsukasa is Kagami's twin sister.. She has the shorter hair and the yellow bow (? is that what you call it ?). If Kagami is the more aggressive type, Tsukasa is the more subtle and kinda slow type. In one of the episodes when she got her first cellphone (pictured), she text messages her sister very often even if they were in the same room. She checks her phone every minute (or second) for messages or calls too. On one episode too, she checked on her twin if Kagami's ready to go to school just to realize that she's wearing the wrong type of school uniform. Because of the difference in personality between the two twins, Konata often comments to Kagami that she is a beast compared to her twin.
Miyuki is the smartest, has the bigger boobs, and the most moé of the four (all Konata's ideas). Konata often teases her for being the most "delectable" to the guys. BTW, Konata has a lot of ideas of what guys would like on about girls because she plays a lot of "games" not advisable to kids.  Miyuki also likes to balance things such as keeping a balance between rice and curry on a plate, drinking, eating cake, etc. She is afraid of dentists because of the drills and of contact lenses (which Konata approves since glasses is moé). In the series, she's presented as the most innocent and the most moé of them all. What's moé? Google can help..
So there you have it. Err.. Just watch the goddamn series, ok? I promise that you'll enjoy it. I forgot, the series has A LOT of parodies about other animés especially The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya.
OH!! About "why Lucky Channel.." It's because at the end of each episode, there is this segment called Lucky Channel which is really fabulous with it's two hosts, the poor Minoru and the bipolar Akira.

Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei

We have Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei tonight (today on other parts of the world). This anime was released last year. It's just 12 episodes but I certainly enjoyed every moment of it. It's not the same as a lot of repetitive crappy animés out there. Basically, it talks a lot about common things around the world that seems normal and acceptable to society. However, the animé explores these things in a different perspective making you think about them and how they actually make you a fool. The title means So Long, Mr. Despair. The video (above) is the first episode of the series. Watch it for yourself  and enjoy.
For the picky, Anime News Network (ANN) offers you a synopsis...
Itoshiki Nozomu is the world's most negative person. To his way of thinking, there is no hope or meaning in this existence. Even the three kanji of his name become the two-kanji word zetsubou, "despair", when compressed. What an ironic twist of fate, then, that he becomes teacher to a class containing his precise opposite, the invincibly positive-minded Fuura Kafuka.

It also has a sequel called Zoku Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei which means So Long, Mr. Despair Extreme. It's as thrilling as the first but I can say that the first season was better.

Lucky Channel Song!!

This will be the official Lucky Channel song.
Does it make you want to dance?

Mizu no Kotoba (Special)

Here at Lucky Channel, I (soon to be we) will also do some animé reviews. So, to start things off, here's "Mizu no Kotoba". It is a 10-minute animation that shows the power of language. It is an interesting find even though it's really short. The characters kind of talk fast sometimes though so it's kinda hard to keep up. It's like a post-modern themed animation that shows elements from popular culture such as The Matrix, iRobot, and 20,000 Leagues Under The Sea. When you watch this short animé, you will feel like you're looking at an aquarium and observing the fishes in it which is exactly what the animé wants us to do. The title, Mizu no Kotoba, means aquatic language
Animation is great. Sound is great. Story-line is great. Overall it's great. I give it 5/5.
Here's a synopsis from the Anime News Network (ANN)
Several people are spending their evening in a cafe. Two gossiping girls, two debating men, a bookworm and a boy, who just broke up with his girlfriend. The cafe's waitress starts a chat with him, persuading him to take a look at certain easel, while other customers begin to notice unusual things.
Watch it here: Mizu no Kotoba (Special)
ENJOY!!

voice of the future

This is a nice video about some Japanese dude drawing up Hatsune Miku from Vocaloid 2. If you're wondering, he's using a drawing program called SAI which is pretty popular in Japan. His skills are awesome!! Just click the play button and you'll see the awesomeness of his godly hands. >.<
BTW, the voice singing in the background is Hatsune Miku, the green haired girl he's drawing. And who/what the hell is Hatsune Miku? She's a Vocaloid.. And what is a Vocaloid? It's this insane singing synthesizer application software developed by Yamaha where you just put in the lyrics and the melody then Hatsune Miku will sing it. And Hatsune Miku is not a real person. She's just like a virtual representation of the voice. Hatsune Miku means "voice of the future" or something like that. The somewhat creepy thing about this is that many users of Vocaloid began to create 3D animations of the character that dances, sings, etc. Why creepy? Given the obsession of the Japanese to create humanoid robots, what if one day a Hatsune Miku android just suddenly appear? Hehehe.. It's not like I don't like it but it would certainly surprise me to see someone with that outrageously long yet cute green hair dancing and singing around. ^_^
Anyway.. enjoy the vid..

Raki Suta (Lucky Star) continued...

So I'am done with Kona-chan...
Next would be Kagami Hiiragi..
She's one of the Hiiragi twins in Lucky Star and the one who gets annoyed/bothered by Konata easily. She always does her things diligently and often scolds Konata on how carefree she is.. But she does care a lot for Konata and her other friends that's why Kona-chan often labels her a tsundere. What's a tsundere? Hell, use Google damn it.. She is the opposite of her twin sister in terms of aggressiveness. Often, Kagami and Konata are portrayed by fans and sometimes hinted by the animators/writers/whatever as a yuri pairing and I just love it! Did I mention I'm already a sucker for yuris? They just look cute together!
It seems the my finger are already sore from that tiresome writing.. I'll continue later with the last two girls from Lucky star.. Laziness is a virtue and virtue is I don't know what that is.

twists

It seems like I have this twisted liking towards "Yuri-themed" shows.. For those pure in heart, Yuri is this girl-girl romance thing..... The other one is Yaoi which is the boy-boy thing (holy $#%@). However, I really don't like the Yaoi thing.. I'm more on the Yuri thing..
It also seems like I've been watching shows that had "incestuous themes" lately..
Am I crazy? Do I have this some kind of subconscious preference towards these themes? Freud? Help? shi*.. Where's that dead guy when you need him...

THE Best 11yo. Guitarist

I really just need to write about this little guy.. He's Sungha Jung from South Korea. He's an 11-year old Korean kid who's really REALLY good in playing the guitar using the "finger style". I first got news about this little kid when one day he suddenly appeared in one of my subscribed video podcasts in iTunes. Upon hearing him playing "With or Without You" by U2, I quickly scoured YouTube for him. He played Green Day's "Wake Me Up When September Ends", "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head", and many more. I was really amazed by this guitar genius and I can say that his dad (the poster of the vids and also a musician) must be really proud of him. I quickly passed the news to some of my friends so that they'll witness Christ reborn! (not really..) He even appeared in a Korean TV show playing MI's theme.. It was really amazing. Jung, ROCK ON!

Raki Suta (Lucky Star)

ok.. i've made the banner thingy now.. hmm..
Why Lucky Channel?
Have you ever heard of an show called Lucky Star? If not, your friendly search engine (Google) can help you. Anyway, Lucky Star is this wacky animé about the daily encounters of it's four main girl characters. They talk about random stuff about anything at all from how to eat curry rice, some kind of telepathy between teens,  fear of going to the dentist, and even the common cold.. Each episode has random stuff in it that it would seem that they don't even connect with each other.
So.. the main characters..
First is Konata Izumi..
She's probably the most popular character to the fans of the show. (she's also my favorite character from the show) She loves animé, mmorpgs, choco-cornets, cosplaying, mangas, animé figurines, and even H-games. She has this laid-back kind of attitude that somehow appeals to many animé fans. She spends her time doing what she wants and what she likes and then depends on her friends when there are "some" school problems.
ANYWAY.. there's too many to write and I'm too lazy.. Maybe I'll continue next time.. MAYBE...
Hmm.. somehow I feel like I forgot to explain something that I was supposed to be talking about.. Oh well...
Ja ne~

oh... snap!
